In Art we have begun to learn about sculpture. We had a go at creating our own sculptures by carving soap!
Spellings for Test on 10th May
We had a fantastic time at Brockhill Country Park with Ranger Ella and Ranger Kate!
In the morning we were building mini rafts! We spent time foraging for natural materials to build our raft with, learnt how to bind our sticks together and even add decorations like a mast, sail and anchor. We had a go with the bow saw to create a willow wood disc. Ranger Ella tested our rafts in the stream to check that they floated and we raced them!
In the afternoon, Ranger Kate took us dipping in the stream! We collected samples and put them in trays of water, we found lots of amazing creatures including fresh water shrimp, leeches and caddisfly larvae. To finish, we had a go at building a dam across the stream (we took it down again afterwards so as not to affect the natural ecosystem).
